The core principle
One record. One ID. Independent of club and country.
Every dog receives a permanent CANIDEX ID. It does not depend on the name, the stud book number, the microchip number, the breed, the club or the country. All existing identifiers – stud book numbers from VUV, VDH or other associations, microchip, DNA profile – are assigned to the record and remain searchable.
The result is a continuous dog record across club and national borders: if a dog changes owner, stud book or country, its history stays complete – with pedigree, health results, genetic tests, show results and titles.

Proposal → review → official
Breeders, owners and partners submit changes as proposals. The responsible body reviews and decides – only then does it become an official entry.
Rule sets instead of fixed logic
Breeding regulations, age limits, health requirements: every body stores its own rules. Lower levels may tighten them, never relax them – FCI, association and club work hand in hand.
Complete history
Every change is recorded in the audit log, and every record can be reconstructed for any date. Who changed what and when can be proven at any time.
Privacy by design
Personal data only where it is needed, with consent for publication, information at the push of a button and fixed deletion periods.
An open interface
All products and partner systems access data through the CANIDEX API – with permissions per body. Breed databases, laboratories and club software can be connected.
